Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 1-20

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Ta Ha.
[Al Quran ; 20:1]

We have not sent down upon you the Quran that you may be distressed.
[Al Quran ; 20:2]

Except as a reminder for those who fear.
[Al Quran ; 20:3]

Descended from He Who created the earth and the high heavens.
[Al Quran ; 20:4]

The Compassionate is over the throne established.
[Al Quran ; 20:5]

To Him belong what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is beneath the soil.
[Al Quran ; 20:6]

And if you declare a saying, then indeed, He knows the secret and that which is hidden.
[Al Quran ; 20:7]

Allah, there is no god except He; to Him belong the best names.
[Al Quran ; 20:8]

And has the story of Musa come to you?
[Al Quran ; 20:9]

When he saw a fire and said to his family: Stay; indeed, I have seen a fire, perhaps I may bring to you therefrom a torch or find at the fire guidance.
[Al Quran ; 20:10]

And when he came to it, he was called: O Musa.
[Al Quran ; 20:11]

Indeed, I am your Lord, so take off your shoes. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.
[Al Quran ; 20:12]

And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed.
[Al Quran ; 20:13]

Indeed, I am Allah, there is no god except I, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.
[Al Quran ; 20:14]

Indeed, the hour is coming, I almost conceal it, so that every soul is rewarded according to that for which it strives.
[Al Quran ; 20:15]

So do not be hindered from it by one who disbelieves in it and follows his desire, for then you would perish.
[Al Quran ; 20:16]

And what is that in your right hand, O Musa?
[Al Quran ; 20:17]

He said: This is my staff: I lean upon it, and I bring down with it leaves for my sheep; and for me therein are other uses.
[Al Quran ; 20:18]

He (Allah) said: Throw it down, O Musa.
[Al Quran ; 20:19]

So he threw it down; and at once, it was a walking serpent.
[Al Quran ; 20:20]

He (Allah) said: Take it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition.
[Al Quran ; 20:21]

And draw your hand to your wing (side), it will come out white without evil, another sign.
[Al Quran ; 20:22]

That We show you of Our greatest signs.
[Al Quran ; 20:23]

Go to Firon, indeed, he has transgressed.
[Al Quran ; 20:24]

He said: O my Lord! Expand for me my chest.
[Al Quran ; 20:25]

And ease for me my affair.
[Al Quran ; 20:26]

And untie a knot from my tongue.
[Al Quran ; 20:27]

That they may understand my saying.
[Al Quran ; 20:28]

And make for me a minister from my family.
[Al Quran ; 20:29]

Harun, my brother.
[Al Quran ; 20:30]

Strengthen through him my strength.
[Al Quran ; 20:31]

And make him share my affair.
[Al Quran ; 20:32]

That we should glorify You a lot.
[Al Quran ; 20:33]

And remember You a lot.
[Al Quran ; 20:34]

Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing.
[Al Quran ; 20:35]

He (Allah) said: You have been granted your request, O Musa.
[Al Quran ; 20:36]

And We have certainly bestowed favour upon you another time.
[Al Quran ; 20:37]

When We revealed to your mother what was revealed.
[Al Quran ; 20:38]

(Saying) Put him into a chest and cast it into the river; and the river will throw him on the shore; there will take him an enemy to Me and enemy to him. And I have cast upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye.
[Al Quran ; 20:39]

When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will sponsor him? So We returned you to your mother that her eye might be pleased and not grieve. And you killed a soul, then We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a trial. And you remained for years among the people of Madyan. And you came as decreed, O Musa.

Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 41-60

And I have made you for Myself:
[Al Quran ; 20:41]

Go, you and your brother, with My signs and be not slacken in My remembrance.
[Al Quran ; 20:42]

Go to Firon; indeed, he has transgressed.
[Al Quran ; 20:43]

Then say to him a gentle saying that perhaps he may be reminded or fear.
[Al Quran ; 20:44]

They (Musa & Harun) said: O our Lord! Indeed, we fear that he will exceed the limits upon us or that he will transgress.
[Al Quran ; 20:45]

He (Allah) said: Fear not; indeed, I am with you both, I hear and I see.
[Al Quran ; 20:46]

So go to him and say: Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the sons of Israel and do not castigate them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace be upon whoever follows the guidance.
[Al Quran ; 20:47]

Indeed, it has been revealed to us that torture will be upon whoever denies and turns away.
[Al Quran ; 20:48]

He (Firon) said: And who is the Lord of you both, O Musa?
[Al Quran ; 20:49]

He said: Our Lord is the One Who gave to everything its creation then guided (it).
[Al Quran ; 20:50]

He (Firon) said: Then what is the case of the former generations?
[Al Quran ; 20:51]

He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.
[Al Quran ; 20:52]

Who made for you the earth as a bed and made for you therein paths and sent down from the sky water and produced thereby pairs of various plants.
[Al Quran ; 20:53]

Eat and pasture your cattle; indeed, in that are signs for those who possess intelligence.
[Al Quran ; 20:54]

From it (the earth) We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you a second time.
[Al Quran ; 20:55]

And We have certainly showed him (Firon) Our signs, all of them, but he denied and refused.
[Al Quran ; 20:56]

He (Firon) said: Have you come to us to evict us from our land by your magic, O Musa?
[Al Quran ; 20:57]

Then we will bring you a magic like it, so make between us and you an appointment, which we will not fail to keep, neither us nor you, in an assigned place.
[Al Quran ; 20:58]

He (Musa) said: Your appointment is on the day of the festival, and let the people be gathered at noon.
[Al Quran ; 20:59]

So Firon went and settled upon his plan, then he came (to Musa).
[Al Quran ; 20:60]

Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 61-80

Musa said to them (the magicians): Woe to you! Do not forge about Allah lies lest He exterminates you with torture; and he would fail who forges.
[Al Quran ; 20:61]

So they disputed their affair between them and concealed their private conversation.
[Al Quran ; 20:62]

They (the magicians) said: Indeed, these two are two magicians who want to evict you from your land by their magic and remove your best tradition.
[Al Quran ; 20:63]

So, settle upon your plan, then come in line, and today one would prosper who overcomes.
[Al Quran ; 20:64]

They (the magicians) said: O Musa! Either you throw or we will be the first who throw.
[Al Quran ; 20:65]

He said: Rather, you throw. Then their ropes and their staffs seemed to him, due to their magic, as if they were moving.
[Al Quran ; 20:66]

So he conceived within himself fear, did Musa.
[Al Quran ; 20:67]

We (Allah) said: Fear not; indeed, you will be superior.
[Al Quran ; 20:68]

And throw what is in your right hand, it will swallow what they have fabricated; indeed, what they have fabricated is only a trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is.
[Al Quran ; 20:69]

And the magicians fell down in prostration, they said: We have believed in the Lord of Harun and Musa.
[Al Quran ; 20:70]

He (Firon) said: Have you believed in him before I allow you; indeed, he is your master who taught you magic. And I will surely cut off your hands and your legs on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in torture and more lasting.
[Al Quran ; 20:71]

They (the magicians) said: We will not prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and (over) the One Who created us. So decree whatever you are going to decree; you can only decree in the life of this world.
[Al Quran ; 20:72]

Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you have compelled us of magic. And Allah is best and more lasting.
[Al Quran ; 20:73]

Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal, then indeed, for him is hell, he will neither die therein nor live.
[Al Quran ; 20:74]

And whoever comes to Him as a believer who has done good deeds, then for those will be the high ranks.
[Al Quran ; 20:75]

The gardens of Eden beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein; and that is the reward of whoever has purified (himself).
[Al Quran ; 20:76]

And We have certainly revealed to Musa: Travel by night with My servants, then strike for them a dry path in the sea; fear not to be overtaken, and be not afraid.
[Al Quran ; 20:77]

So Firon followed them with his soldiers, and there covered them of the sea that which covered them.
[Al Quran ; 20:78]

And Firon misguided his people and did not guide (them).
[Al Quran ; 20:79]

O sons of Israel! We have saved you from your enemy, and We made a covenant with you at the right side of mount Tur, and We sent down upon you manna and quails.
[Al Quran ; 20:80]

Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 81-100

Eat from the good things from which We have provided you and do not transgress therein, lest My anger will come upon you. And he upon whom My anger comes has certainly fallen.
[Al Quran ; 20:81]

And indeed, I am Forgiver of whoever has repented and believed and done good deed and is guided.
[Al Quran ; 20:82]

And what made you hasten from your people, O Musa?
[Al Quran ; 20:83]

He said: They are close upon my track, and I hastened to You, my Lord, that You might be pleased.
[Al Quran ; 20:84]

He (Allah) said: Indeed, We have certainly tried your people after you, and the Samiray has misguided them.
[Al Quran ; 20:85]

So Musa returned to his people angry and grieved. He said: O my people! Did your Lord not promise you a good promise? Then, was the covenant far (in time) to you, or did you want that there should come to you an anger from your Lord, so you broke my promise?
[Al Quran ; 20:86]

They said: We did not break your promise by our will, but we were made to bear burdens from the ornaments of the people (of Firon), so we cast them (in fire), and thus did the Samirai throw.
[Al Quran ; 20:87]

So he (Samirai) extracted for them a body of calf which had a lowing sound, and they said: This is your god and the god of Musa, but he forgot.
[Al Quran ; 20:88]

Did they not see that it could not return to them any saying and that it could not possess for them any harm or benefit?
[Al Quran ; 20:89]

And Harun has certainly said to them before: O my people! You are only being tried by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Compassionate, so follow me and obey my command.
[Al Quran ; 20:90]

They said: We will not cease being devoted to it until Musa returns to us.
[Al Quran ; 20:91]

He (Musa) said: O Harun! What prevented you, when you saw them going astray,
[Al Quran ; 20:92]

That you did not follow me? And did you disobey my command?
[Al Quran ; 20:93]

He (Harun) said: O son of my mother! Do not seize (me) by my beard or by my head; indeed, I feared that you would say: You have caused division among the sons of Israel and did not watch my saying.
[Al Quran ; 20:94]

He (Musa) said: So, what was your story, O Samirai?
[Al Quran ; 20:95]

He (Samirai) said: I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful (of dust) from the track of the messenger, then I threw it; and thus did my soul entice me.
[Al Quran ; 20:96]

He (Musa) said: Then go; and indeed, for you in (this) life to say: No touch; and indeed, there will be for you an appointment that you will not fail to keep; and look at your god to which you kept devoted; we will surely burn it, then we will surely blast it in the sea with a blast.
[Al Quran ; 20:97]

Your god is only Allah except Whom there is no god; He has encompassed everything in knowledge.
[Al Quran ; 20:98]

Thus do We narrate to you from the news of what has preceded; and We have given you from Ourselves a reminder (the Quran).
[Al Quran ; 20:99]

A

Whoever turns away from it, then indeed, he will bear on the day of resurrection a burden.
[Al Quran ; 20:100]

Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 101-120

Abiding therein, and miserable it is for them on the day of resurrection as a load.
[Al Quran ; 20:101]

The day the trumpet will be blown, and We will gather the criminals, on that day, blue.
[Al Quran ; 20:102]

They murmur between themselves (saying): Indeed, you remained not except ten (days).
[Al Quran ; 20:103]

We are most Knowing what they say, when the best of them in conduct would say: You remained not except a day.
[Al Quran ; 20:104]

And they ask you about the mountains, so say: My Lord will blow them away with a blast.
[Al Quran ; 20:105]

And He will leave it a levelled plain.
[Al Quran ; 20:106]

You will not see therein any bending or an elevation.
[Al Quran ; 20:107]

On that day, they will follow the caller, there will be no deviation in him; and the voices will be humbled before the Compassionate, so you will not hear except a whisper.
[Al Quran ; 20:108]

On that day, intercession will not benefit except one to whom the Compassionate has given permission and has accepted from him a saying.
[Al Quran ; 20:109]

He knows what is before them and what will be after them; and they do not encompass it in knowledge.
[Al Quran ; 20:110]

And the faces will be humbled before the Alive, the Ever-Subsisting. And he has failed who carries injustice.
[Al Quran ; 20:111]

And whoever does of good deeds while he is a believer, then he should not fear injustice or digesting (his due).
[Al Quran ; 20:112]

And thus have We sent it down as an Arabic Quran and have displayed therein of the threats that perhaps they fear or that it could make them remember.
[Al Quran ; 20:113]

So exalted is Allah, the King, the Truth. And do not hasten with the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say: My Lord ! Increase me in knowledge.
[Al Quran ; 20:114]

And We have certainly taken a covenant from Adam before, but he forgot; and We did not find in him determination.
[Al Quran ; 20:115]

And when We said to the angels: Prostrate to Adam; and they prostrated except Iblis, he refused.
[Al Quran ; 20:116]

So We said: O Adam! This is an enemy to you and to your spouse; so let him not drive you out from the garden so you would suffer.
[Al Quran ; 20:117]

Indeed, it is for you not be hungry therein or be unclothed.
[Al Quran ; 20:118]

And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or feel the heat.
[Al Quran ; 20:119]

And the devil whispered to him; he said: O Adam! Shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and a kingdom that will not deteriorate?
[Al Quran ; 20:120]

Ta Ha (Ta Ha)

Translation

Verses 121-135

And they (Adam and his spouse) ate from it, and their private parts became visible to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of the garden. And Adam disobeyed his Lord, and he erred.
[Al Quran ; 20:121]

Then his Lord chose him and accepted his repentance and guided (him).
[Al Quran ; 20:122]

He said: Descend from it all, being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you from Me guidance, then whoever follows My guidance will not go astray misguided nor suffer.
[Al Quran ; 20:123]

And whoever turns away from My remembrance, then indeed, for him will be a difficult life, and We will gather him on the day of resurrection blind.
[Al Quran ; 20:124]

He will say: My Lord! Why has You gathered me blind and I used to be seeing?
[Al Quran ; 20:125]

He will say: Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you, this day, be forgotten.
[Al Quran ; 20:126]

And thus do We reward whoever was extravagant and did not believe in the signs of his Lord, and surely the torture of the hereafter is more severe and more lasting.
[Al Quran ; 20:127]

So has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them who were walking within their homes? Indeed, in that are signs for those who possess intelligence.
[Al Quran ; 20:128]

And had it not been for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been an obligation and a specified term.
[Al Quran ; 20:129]

So be patient over what they say and glorify with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting, and during a period of the night glorify (Him), and at the ends of the day, that you may be pleased.
[Al Quran ; 20:130]

And do not stretch your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to (some) pairs of them. The flower of the life of this world by which We try them. And the provision by your Lord is better and more lasting.
[Al Quran ; 20:131]

And command your family with prayer and be patient over it. We do not ask you for provision, We provide for you, and the (best) outcome is for fearing.
[Al Quran ; 20:132]

And they said: Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord? Has there not come to them evidence of what is in the former scriptures?
[Al Quran ; 20:133]

And had We destroyed them with torture before this, they would have said: Our Lord! Why did You not send to us a messenger so we would have followed Your signs before we were humiliated and disgraced?
[Al Quran ; 20:134]

Say: Each (of us) is waiting, so wait; and you are going to know who are the companions of the even path and who is guided.
[Al Quran ; 20:135]
