2.31 - And He taught Adam the names, all together, then He showed them to the angels; and He said: Tell me the names of those, if you should be truthful? 2.32 - They said: Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except that which You have taught us; indeed, You are the Knowing, the Wise. 2.33 - He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names. And when he informed them of their names, He said: Did I not say to you that indeed, I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth and I know what you reveal and what you conceal. 2.34 - And when We said to the angels: Prostrate to Adam. And they all prostrated except Iblis. He refused and acted arrogantly, and he was among the unbelievers. 2.35 - And We said: O Adam! Dwell, you and your spouse, in the garden, and eat from it in abundance from wherever you will, and do not come near this tree, lest you be among the unjust. 2.36 - And the devil caused them to slip out of it and caused them to exit from the state in which they had been. And We said: Descend, some of you will be enemy to others; and for you on earth is a settlement and a provision for a time. 2.37 - So Adam received from his Lord words and He accepted his repentance; indeed, He is the Acceptor of repentance, the Merciful. 2.38 - We said: Descend from it all together. And when guidance comes to you from Me, then as for those who follow My guidance, then no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve. 2.39 - And those who have disbelieved and called Our signs lies, those will be the companions of the fire, they will be therein abiding. 2.40 - O sons of Israel! Remember My favour which I have bestowed upon you, and fulfil My covenant so that I fulfil your covenant. And of Me, you should be afraid.
