Al-Rahman (The Compassionate)
Translation
Verses 1-78
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
الرَّحْمَٰنُ (1)
The Compassionate.
[Al Quran ; 55:1]
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ (2)
Taught the Quran.
[Al Quran ; 55:2]
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ (3)
Created the human.
[Al Quran ; 55:3]
عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ (4)
Taught him eloquence.
[Al Quran ; 55:4]
الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ (5)
The sun and the moon by calculation.
[Al Quran ; 55:5]
وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ (6)
And the star and the trees prostrate.
[Al Quran ; 55:6]
وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ (7)
And the sky He raised and imposed the balance.
[Al Quran ; 55:7]
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ (8)
That you do not transgress in the balance.
[Al Quran ; 55:8]
وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ (9)
And establish the balance in justice and do not decrease the balance.
[Al Quran ; 55:9]
وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ (10)
And the earth He has set for the creatures.
[Al Quran ; 55:10]
فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ (11)
Therein are fruit and palm trees having sheaths.
[Al Quran ; 55:11]
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ (12)
And the seeds having husk and scent.
[Al Quran ; 55:12]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (13)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:13]
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ (14)
He created the human from clay like pottery.
[Al Quran ; 55:14]
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ (15)
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
[Al Quran ; 55:15]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (16)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:16]
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ (17)
The Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests.
[Al Quran ; 55:17]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (18)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:18]
مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ (19)
He made the two seas meeting.
[Al Quran ; 55:19]
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِ (20)
Between them is a barrier which they cannot overcome.
[Al Quran ; 55:20]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (21)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:21]
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ (22)
Emerging from both of them pearls and coral.
[Al Quran ; 55:22]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (23)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:23]
وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ (24)
And to Him belong the ships established in the sea like mountains.
[Al Quran ; 55:24]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (25)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:25]
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ (26)
Everyone upon it (the earth) will perish.
[Al Quran ; 55:26]
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ (27)
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of majesty and honour.
[Al Quran ; 55:27]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (28)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:28]
يَسْأَلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ (29)
Whoever is in the heavens and the earth asks of Him; every day He is in a matter.
[Al Quran ; 55:29]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (30)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:30]
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ (31)
We will attend to you, O you two prominent (beings).
[Al Quran ; 55:31]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (32)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:32]
يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ (33)
O company of jinn and mankind! If you are able to pass through the diameters of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority.
[Al Quran ; 55:33]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (34)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:34]
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِ (35)
There will be sent upon both of you flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not defend yourselves.
[Al Quran ; 55:35]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (36)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:36]
فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ (37)
And when the sky is split open and becomes a (coloured) rose like paint.
[Al Quran ; 55:37]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (38)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:38]
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ (39)
So on that day none will be asked (an explanation) about his sin from among mankind and jinn.
[Al Quran ; 55:39]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (40)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:40]
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ (41)
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
[Al Quran ; 55:41]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (42)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:42]
هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ (43)
This is hell which was denied by the criminals.
[Al Quran ; 55:43]
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ (44)
They will circulate between it and heated boiling water.
[Al Quran ; 55:44]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (45)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:45]
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ (46)
And for one who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens.
[Al Quran ; 55:46]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (47)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:47]
ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ (48)
Both (gardens) have branches.
[Al Quran ; 55:48]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (49)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:49]
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ (50)
In both of them will be two springs, flowing.
[Al Quran ; 55:50]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (51)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:51]
فِيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ (52)
In both of them will be of every fruit, two pairs.
[Al Quran ; 55:52]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (53)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:53]
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ (54)
Reclining on beds whose coverings are of brocade; and the produce of the two gardens will be low (within reach).
[Al Quran ; 55:54]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (55)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:55]
فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ (56)
In both of them will be (beautiful) women who restrain their glance; untouched before them by man or jinni.
[Al Quran ; 55:56]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (57)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:57]
كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ (58)
As if they were rubies and coral.
[Al Quran ; 55:58]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (59)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:59]
هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ (60)
Is the reward of good (anything) except good?
[Al Quran ; 55:60]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (61)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:61]
وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ (62)
And other than those two (gardens) are two gardens.
[Al Quran ; 55:62]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (63)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:63]
مُدْهَامَّتَانِ (64)
Dark green.
[Al Quran ; 55:64]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (65)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:65]
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ (66)
In both of them will be two springs, spouting.
[Al Quran ; 55:66]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (67)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:67]
فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ (68)
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
[Al Quran ; 55:68]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (69)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:69]
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ (70)
In both of them will be good and beautiful women.
[Al Quran ; 55:70]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (71)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:71]
حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ (72)
Beautiful women confined in tents.
[Al Quran ; 55:72]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (73)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:73]
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ (74)
Untouched before them by man or jinni.
[Al Quran ; 55:74]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (75)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:75]
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ (76)
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
[Al Quran ; 55:76]
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ (77)
So which of the favours of your Lord you two deny?
[Al Quran ; 55:77]
تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ (78)
Blessings from the name of your Lord, Owner of majesty and honour.
[Al Quran ; 55:78]
