Translation

Verses 1-20

---

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

---

تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ (1)

The descending of the book from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
[Al Quran ; 39:1]

---

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ فَاعْبُدِ اللَّهَ مُخْلِصًا لَهُ الدِّينَ (2)

Indeed, We have sent down to you the book in truth, so worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion.
[Al Quran ; 39:2]

أَلَا لِلَّهِ الدِّينُ الْخَالِصُ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَا إِلَى اللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ (3)

Unquestionably, to Allah is the virtuous religion. And those who have taken other than Him guardians, (say:) We do not worship them except that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position. Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that in which they disagree; indeed, Allah does not guide one who is an ungrateful liar.
[Al Quran ; 39:3]

لَوْ أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا لَاصْطَفَىٰ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ (4)

If Allah had wanted to take a child, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He wills. Glory be to Him, He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
[Al Quran ; 39:4]

خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۗ أَلَا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ (5)

He created the heavens and the earth in truth; He wraps into a ball the night over the day and wraps into a ball the day over the night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon, each runs to a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Mighty, the Forgiver.
[Al Quran ; 39:5]

خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَأَنْزَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَزْوَاجٍ ۚ يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ خَلْقًا مِنْ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ ثَلَاثٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ (6)

He created you from a single soul, and He made from it its spouse. And He has sent down, for you from the cattle eight pairs. He creates you in the bellies of your mothers, creation after creation, in triple darkness. That is Allah your Lord, to Him belongs the kingdom, there is no god except He, so how are you averted?
[Al Quran ; 39:6]

إِنْ تَكْفُرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْكُمْ ۖ وَلَا يَرْضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ الْكُفْرَ ۖ وَإِنْ تَشْكُرُوا يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۗ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ (7)

If you disbelieve, then indeed, Allah is Rich without you. And He does not like, for His servants, disbelief. And if you are grateful, He likes it for you. And no sin bears the sin of another. And to your Lord will be your return, and He will inform you of what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of what is in the chests.
[Al Quran ; 39:7]

وَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنْسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُ نِعْمَةً مِنْهُ نَسِيَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَنْدَادًا لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ۚ قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ (8)

And when harm touches the human, he calls upon his Lord turning to Him; and when He grants him a favour from Him, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before. And he makes to Allah rivals to misguide (others) from His path. Say: Enjoy your disbelief a little; indeed, you are from among the companions of the fire.
[Al Quran ; 39:8]

أَمَّنْ هُوَ قَانِتٌ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ سَاجِدًا وَقَائِمًا يَحْذَرُ الْآخِرَةَ وَيَرْجُو رَحْمَةَ رَبِّهِ ۗ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۗ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ (9)

Is one who is devote during the night, prostrating and standing, being alert of the hereafter and hopes for the mercy of his Lord (like one who does not)? Say: Are those who know like those who do not know? Only will remember, those who possess minds.
[Al Quran ; 39:9]

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ ۗ وَأَرْضُ اللَّهِ وَاسِعَةٌ ۗ إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصَّابِرُونَ أَجْرَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ (10)

Say: O my servants who have believed! Fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world will be good, and the land of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure.
[Al Quran ; 39:10]

قُلْ إِنِّي أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ مُخْلِصًا لَهُ الدِّينَ (11)

Say: Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion.
[Al Quran ; 39:11]

---

وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَنْ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ (12)

And I have been commanded to be the first (among you) of the submitters.
[Al Quran ; 39:12]

---

قُلْ إِنِّي أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ (13)

Say: Indeed, I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the torture of a great day.
[Al Quran ; 39:13]

---

قُلِ اللَّهَ أَعْبُدُ مُخْلِصًا لَهُ دِينِي (14)

Say: Allah (is Whom) I worship, sincere to Him in my religion.
[Al Quran ; 39:14]

---

فَاعْبُدُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ (15)

So worship what you will other than Him. Say: Indeed, the losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the day of resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the obvious loss.
[Al Quran ; 39:15]

لَهُمْ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يُخَوِّفُ اللَّهُ بِهِ عِبَادَهُ ۚ يَا عِبَادِ فَاتَّقُونِ (16)

There will be over them coverings of fire, and beneath them are coverings. By that Allah scares His servants. O My servants! Then fear Me.
[Al Quran ; 39:16]

وَالَّذِينَ اجْتَنَبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَىٰ ۚ فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِ (17)

And those who avoid Taghut (the devil), lest they worship it, and turn to Allah, for them are good tidings; so give good tidings to My servants.
[Al Quran ; 39:17]

الَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ (18)

Those who hear the saying then follow the best of it; it is them whom Allah has guided, and it is them who possess minds.
[Al Quran ; 39:18]

أَفَمَنْ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ كَلِمَةُ الْعَذَابِ أَفَأَنْتَ تُنْقِذُ مَنْ فِي النَّارِ (19)

Is one against whom the word of torture is justified (like others)? Can you save one who is in the fire?
[Al Quran ; 39:19]

لَٰكِنِ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌ مِنْ فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌ مَبْنِيَّةٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ الْمِيعَادَ (20

But those who fear their Lord, for them will be chambers over which are built chambers, beneath which rivers flow. The promise of Allah, Allah does not fail the promise.

Translation

Verses 1-20

---

Translation

Verses 21-40

---

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَسَلَكَهُ يَنَابِيعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ حُطَامًا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ (21)

Do you not see that Allah sends down from the sky water and makes it to flow as springs in the earth; then He brings forth thereby vegetation of various colours, then they dry so that you see it turning yellow, then He makes it debris. Indeed, in that is a reminder for those who possess minds.
[Al Quran ; 39:21]

أَفَمَنْ شَرَحَ اللَّهُ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ (22)

So is one whose chest Allah has expanded to submission so that he is upon a light from his Lord (like the others)? So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah; it is them who are in obvious misguidance.
[Al Quran ; 39:22]

اللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابًا مُتَشَابِهًا مَثَانِيَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ (23)

Allah has sent down the best of speech, a consistent and reiterating book, of which the skins of those who fear their Lord shudder, then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah, He guides thereby whom He wills; and one whom Allah misguides, for him there will be no guide.
[Al Quran ; 39:23]

أَفَمَنْ يَتَّقِي بِوَجْهِهِ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَقِيلَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ (24)

So is one who shields with his face the evil torture on the day of resurrection (like one who does not)? And it will be said to the unjust: Taste what you used to earn.
[Al Quran ; 39:24]

كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ (25)

Those before them denied, so the torture came upon them from where they did not perceive.
[Al Quran ; 39:25]

فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ (26)

And Allah made them taste the disgrace in the life of this world, and surely the torture of the hereafter is greater; if they only knew.

وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ كُلِّ مَثَلٍ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ (27)

And We have certainly struck for the people in this Quran of every example, perhaps they will remember.
[Al Quran ; 39:27]

قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِي عِوَجٍ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ (28)

An Arabic Quran without any deviance, perhaps they will fear (Allah).
[Al Quran ; 39:28]

---

ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَجُلًا فِيهِ شُرَكَاءُ مُتَشَاكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًا سَلَمًا لِرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (29)

Allah has struck an example, a man owned by quarrelling partners, and (the example of) a man owned (exclusively) by one man, are they equal in example? Praise be to Allah. Rather most of them do not know.
[Al Quran ; 39:29]

---

إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُمْ مَيِّتُونَ (30)

Indeed, you are to die; and indeed, they are to die.
[Al Quran ; 39:30]

---

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ (31)

Then indeed, you will be, on the day of resurrection before your Lord, contending one another.
[Al Quran ; 39:31]

---

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِالصِّدْقِ إِذْ جَاءَهُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِلْكَافِرِينَ (32)

So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in hell a refuge for the unbelievers?
[Al Quran ; 39:32]

---

وَالَّذِي جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ (33)

And one who has brought the truth and has believed in it, it is them who are the pious.
[Al Quran ; 39:33]

---

لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَاءُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ (34)

For them will be whatever they will before their Lord; that is the reward of the doers of good.
[Al Quran ; 39:34]

لِيُكَفِّرَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ بِأَحْسَنِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (35)

So that Allah will remove the worst of what they did and reward them their reward for the best of what they used to do.
[Al Quran ; 39:35]

أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَهُ ۖ وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ بِالَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ ۚ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ (36)

Is not Allah sufficient for His servant? And they scare you with those other than Him; and one whom Allah misguides, for him there will be no guide.
[Al Quran ; 39:36]

---

وَمَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ مُضِلٍّ ۗ أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِعَزِيزٍ ذِي انْتِقَامٍ (37)

And one whom Allah guides, for him there will be no misguide. Is not Allah Mighty Who owns retribution?
[Al Quran ; 39:37]

وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَنِيَ اللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلْ هُنَّ كَاشِفَاتُ ضُرِّهِ أَوْ أَرَادَنِي بِرَحْمَةٍ هَلْ هُنَّ مُمْسِكَاتُ رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ قُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ ۖ عَلَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ (38)

And if you ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth? They would surely say: Allah. Say: Then have you considered that what you call upon other than Allah, if Allah wanted harm to me, would they be removers of His harm? Or if Allah wanted to grant me mercy, would they be withholders of His mercy? Say: Allah is my Reckoner; upon Him rely those who rely.

قُلْ يَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُوا عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ (39)

Say: O my people! Work according to your positions; indeed, I am working; and you are going to know.
[Al Quran ; 39:39]

مَنْ يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُقِيمٌ (40)

To whom will come a torture which will disgrace him, and upon whom will come a lasting torture.

Translation

Verses 21-40

---

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَسَلَكَهُ يَنَابِيعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ حُطَامًا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ (21)

Do you not see that Allah sends down from the sky water and makes it to flow as springs in the earth; then He brings forth thereby vegetation of various colours, then they dry so that you see it turning yellow, then He makes it debris. Indeed, in that is a reminder for those who possess minds.

أَفَمَنْ شَرَحَ اللَّهُ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ (22)

So is one whose chest Allah has expanded to submission so that he is upon a light from his Lord (like the others)? So woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah; it is them who are in obvious misguidance.

Translation

Verses 41-60

---

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ لِلنَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَكِيلٍ (41)

Indeed, We have sent down to you the book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided, it is for his soul; and whoever is misguided, is only misguided against it. And you are not over them a trustee.
[Al Quran ; 39:41]

اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَىٰ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (42)

Allah causes the souls to die at the time of their death; and those that do not die during their sleep; and He withholds the one upon which He decreed death and sends the other (back) for a specified term. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thoughts.
[Al Quran ; 39:42]

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاءَ ۚ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ (43)

Or have they taken intercessors other than Allah? Say: Even though they do not possess a thing, nor do they understand.
[Al Quran ; 39:43]

---

قُلْ لِلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا ۖ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ (44)

Say: To Allah belongs intercession altogether. To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And to Him you will be returned.
[Al Quran ; 39:44]

وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ (45)

And when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter shrink, and when those other than Him are mentioned, at once they rejoice.
[Al Quran ; 39:45]

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ أَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِي مَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ (46)

Say: O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the testimony, You judge between Your servants concerning that in which they used to disagree.
[Al Quran ; 39:46]

وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهِ مِنْ سُوءِ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَبَدَا لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ (47)

And if those who are unjust have all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would surely ransom themselves from the evil of the torture on the day of resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allah that which they have not taken into account.
[Al Quran ; 39:47]

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (48)

And there will appear to them the evils of what they have earned. And they will be enveloped by that which they used to ridicule.
[Al Quran ; 39:48]

فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنْسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ ۚ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (49)

And when harm touches the human, he calls upon Us; and when We grant him a favour from Us, he says: I have only been given it because of (my) knowledge. Rather it is a trial but most of them do not know.
[Al Quran ; 39:49]

قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (50)

Those before them had already said it, and they were not availed by what they used to earn.
[Al Quran ; 39:50]

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا ۚ وَالَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَمَا هُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ (51)

So they were struck by the evils of what they earned. And those who are unjust from among these, they will be struck by the evils of what they earned, and they will not cause failure.
[Al Quran ; 39:51]

أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ (52)

Do they not know that Allah extends provision to whom He wills and restricts (it). Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.
[Al Quran ; 39:52]

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ (53)

Say: O my servants! Who have acted extravagantly against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives the sins altogether. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 39:53]

وَأَنِيبُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنْصَرُونَ (54)

And return to your Lord and submit to Him before there comes to you the torture, then you will not be helped.
[Al Quran ; 39:54]

وَاتَّبِعُوا أَحْسَنَ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ (55)

And follow the best of what was sent down to you from your Lord before there comes to you the torture suddenly while you do not perceive.
[Al Quran ; 39:55]

أَنْ تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَا حَسْرَتَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْتُ فِي جَنْبِ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِينَ (56)

Lest a soul should say: Oh, regret be upon me for what I have neglected in regard to Allah. And indeed, I used to be of those who ridicule.
[Al Quran ; 39:56]

أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ (57)

Or lest it should say: Had Allah guided me; I would surely have been of the pious.
[Al Quran ; 39:57]

---

أَوْ تَقُولَ حِينَ تَرَى الْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي كَرَّةً فَأَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ (58)

Or lest it should say when it sees the torture: If only I had another chance so I would be of the doers of good.
[Al Quran ; 39:58]

بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَتْكَ آيَاتِي فَكَذَّبْتَ بِهَا وَاسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنْتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ (59)

Yes, My signs came to you, but you denied them and were arrogant and were among the unbelievers.

وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تَرَى الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ وُجُوهُهُمْ مُسْوَدَّةٌ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ (60)

And on the day of resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah, their faces blackened. Is there not in hell a refuge for the arrogant?

Al-Zumur (The Groups)

Translation

Verses 41-60

---

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ لِلنَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَكِيلٍ (41)

Indeed, We have sent down to you the book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided, it is for his soul; and whoever is misguided, is only misguided against it. And you are not over them a trustee.
[Al Quran ; 39:41]

اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَىٰ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (42)

Allah causes the souls to die at the time of their death; and those that do not die during their sleep; and He withholds the one upon which He decreed death and sends the other (back) for a specified term. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thoughts.
[Al Quran ; 39:42]

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاءَ ۚ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ (43)

Or have they taken intercessors other than Allah? Say: Even though they do not possess a thing, nor do they understand.
[Al Quran ; 39:43]

قُلْ لِلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا ۖ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ (44)

Say: To Allah belongs intercession altogether. To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And to Him you will be returned.
[Al Quran ; 39:44]

وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ (45)

And when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter shrink, and when those other than Him are mentioned, at once they rejoice.
[Al Quran ; 39:45]

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ أَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِي مَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ (46)

Say: O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the testimony, You judge between Your servants concerning that in which they used to disagree.
[Al Quran ; 39:46]

وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهِ مِنْ سُوءِ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ وَبَدَا لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ (47)

And if those who are unjust have all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would surely ransom themselves from the evil of the torture on the day of resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allah that which they have not taken into account.
[Al Quran ; 39:47]

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (48)

And there will appear to them the evils of what they have earned. And they will be enveloped by that which they used to ridicule.
[Al Quran ; 39:48]

فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنْسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ ۚ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (49)

And when harm touches the human, he calls upon Us; and when We grant him a favour from Us, he says: I have only been given it because of (my) knowledge. Rather it is a trial but most of them do not know.
[Al Quran ; 39:49]

قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (50)

Those before them had already said it, and they were not availed by what they used to earn.
[Al Quran ; 39:50]

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا ۚ وَالَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَمَا هُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ (51)

So they were struck by the evils of what they earned. And those who are unjust from among these, they will be struck by the evils of what they earned, and they will not cause failure.
[Al Quran ; 39:51]

أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ (52)

Do they not know that Allah extends provision to whom He wills and restricts (it). Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.
[Al Quran ; 39:52]

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ (53)

Say: O my servants! Who have acted extravagantly against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives the sins altogether. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 39:53]

---

وَأَنِيبُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنْصَرُونَ (54)

And return to your Lord and submit to Him before there comes to you the torture, then you will not be helped.
[Al Quran ; 39:54]

Translation

Verses 61-75

---

وَيُنَجِّي اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا بِمَفَازَتِهِمْ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ السُّوءُ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ (61)

And Allah will save those who fear (Him) through their attainments; evil will not touch them, nor will they grieve.
[Al Quran ; 39:61]

اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ (62)

Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is over everything a Trustee.
[Al Quran ; 39:62]

---

لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ (63)

To Him belong the tressures of the heavens and the earth; and those who have disbelieved in the signs of Allah are the losers.
[Al Quran ; 39:63]

قُلْ أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَأْمُرُونِّي أَعْبُدُ أَيُّهَا الْجَاهِلُونَ (64)

Say: Is it other than Allah you command me to worship, O ignorant ones?
[Al Quran ; 39:64]

---

وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ (65)

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you associate (others with Allah), your work would surely be worthless and you would surely be among the losers.
[Al Quran ; 39:65]

بَلِ اللَّهَ فَاعْبُدْ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ (66)

Rather, worship Allah and be among the grateful.
[Al Quran ; 39:66]

---

وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ (67)

And they did not appraise Allah the way He should be appraised while the whole earth will be in His grip on the day of resurrection, and the heavens will be folded by His right hand. Glory be to Him, and exalted is He above what they associate (with Him).

وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۖ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنْظُرُونَ (68)

And the trumpet will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth will pass out except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on.
[Al Quran ; 39:68]

وَأَشْرَقَتِ الْأَرْضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ وَجِيءَ بِالنَّبِيِّينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ (69)

And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the book will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them in truth, and they will not be wronged.
[Al Quran ; 39:69]

وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا عَمِلَتْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ (70)

And every soul will be fully paid for what it has done; and He is most Knowing what they do.
[Al Quran ; 39:70]

---

وَسِيقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنْذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا ۚ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ الْعَذَابِ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ (71)

And those who have disbelieved will be driven to hell in groups until, when they come to it, its doors will be opened and its keepers will say to them: Did there not come to you messengers from among you reciting to you the signs of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They will say: Yes, but the word of torture was justified against the unbelievers.
[Al Quran ; 39:71]

قِيلَ ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ (72)

It will be said: Enter the gates of hell, abiding therein; and miserable is the refuge of the arrogant.
[Al Quran ; 39:72]

وَسِيقَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَادْخُلُوهَا خَالِدِينَ (73)

And those who feared their Lord will be driven to the garden in groups until, when they come to it while its doors will be opened and its keepers will say to them: Peace be upon you, you have become pure, so enter it to abide.
[Al Quran ; 39:73]

وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُ وَأَوْرَثَنَا الْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُ ۖ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ (74)

And they will say: Praise be to Allah Who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the land, (so) we may settle in the garden wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of the workers.
[Al Quran ; 39:74]

وَتَرَى الْمَلَائِكَةَ حَافِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ الْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَقِيلَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (75)

And you will see the angels surrounding the throne glorifying with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

It will be said: Enter the gates of hell, abiding therein; and miserable is the refuge of the arrogant.
[Al Quran ; 39:72]

وَسِيقَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَادْخُلُوهَا خَالِدِينَ (73)

And those who feared their Lord will be driven to the garden in groups until, when they come to it while its doors will be opened and its keepers will say to them: Peace be upon you, you have become pure, so enter it to abide.
[Al Quran ; 39:73]

وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُ وَأَوْرَثَنَا الْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُ ۖ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ (74)

And they will say: Praise be to Allah Who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the land, (so) we may settle in the garden wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of the workers.
[Al Quran ; 39:74]

وَتَرَى الْمَلَائِكَةَ حَافِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ الْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَقِيلَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (75)

And you will see the angels surrounding the throne glorifying with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
