Al-Ahzab (The Allies)

Translation

Verses 1-20

---

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

---

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا (1)

O Prophet! Fear Allah and do not obey the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing, Wise.
[Al Quran ; 33:1]

وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا (2)

And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed, Allah is ever, of what you do, Acquainted.
[Al Quran ; 33:2]

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا (3)

And rely upon Allah; and sufficient is Allah as Trustee.
[Al Quran ; 33:3]

---

مَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قَلْبَيْنِ فِي جَوْفِهِ ۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزْوَاجَكُمُ اللَّائِي تُظَاهِرُونَ مِنْهُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ ۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدْعِيَاءَكُمْ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ قَوْلُكُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِكُمْ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَقُولُ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ يَهْدِي السَّبِيلَ (4)

Allah has not made for any man two hearts inside him. And He has not made your wives, whom you declare forbidden, your mothers. And He has not made your adopted sons your sons. That is your saying by your mouths; and Allah says the truth, and He guides to the way.
[Al Quran ; 33:4]

ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا آبَاءَهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَمَوَالِيكُمْ ۚ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا أَخْطَأْتُمْ بِهِ وَلَٰكِنْ مَا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا (5)

Call them by their (real) fathers; this is more just with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in religion and those entrusted by you. And there is no blame upon you for that in which you made a mistake, but that which your hearts intended. And Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ۖ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ ۗ وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا إِلَىٰ أَوْلِيَائِكُمْ مَعْرُوفًا ۚ كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا (6)

The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are their mothers. And those of relationships, some of them with respect to others are more worthy (for inheritance) in the book of Allah than the (other) believers and the emigrants, except that you may do an act of kindness to your guardians. That is in the book inscribed.
[Al Quran ; 33:6]

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۖ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا (7)

And when We took from the prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and Isa, son of Mariam; and We took from them a solemn covenant.
[Al Quran ; 33:7]

لِيَسْأَلَ الصَّادِقِينَ عَنْ صِدْقِهِمْ ۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا (8)

That He may question the truthful about their truth; and He has prepared for the unbelievers a painful torture.
[Al Quran ; 33:8]

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَاءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَمْ تَرَوْهَا ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا (9)

O you who have believed! Remember the favour of Allah upon you when soldiers came to you (to attack you), so We sent upon them a wind and soldiers whom you did not see. And Allah is ever, of what you do, Seeing.
[Al Quran ; 33:9]

إِذْ جَاءُوكُمْ مِنْ فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ الْأَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ الظُّنُونَا (10)

When they came to you from above you and from below you, and when visions became disoriented, and hearts reached the throats, and you assumed about Allah assumptions.
[Al Quran ; 33:10]

هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا زِلْزَالًا شَدِيدًا (11)

There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe earthquake.
[Al Quran ; 33:11]

---

وَإِذْ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا (12)

And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease say: Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion.
[Al Quran ; 33:12]

وَإِذْ قَالَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَارْجِعُوا ۚ وَيَسْتَأْذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوْرَةٍ ۖ إِنْ يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا (13)

And when a group of them said: O people of Yathrib! There is no position for you (to fight), so return. And a team of them asked permission of the prophet, saying: Indeed, our houses are exposed; while they were not exposed. They only desired fleeing (the fight).
[Al Quran ; 33:13]

وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا الْفِتْنَةَ لَآتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا بِهَا إِلَّا يَسِيرًا (14)

And if they (the soldiers) entered upon them from its regions, and they were asked (to cause) discord, they would have done it and not hesitated over it except briefly.
[Al Quran ; 33:14]

وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ ۚ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْئُولًا (15)

And they had certainly made a covenant with Allah before, that they would not turn their backs. And ever is the covenant with Allah will be questioned (by Him).
[Al Quran ; 33:15]

قُلْ لَنْ يَنْفَعَكُمُ الْفِرَارُ إِنْ فَرَرْتُمْ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ أَوِ الْقَتْلِ وَإِذًا لَا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (16)

Say: Never will fleeing benefit you if you flee from death or killing; and then you would not be given enjoyment except a little.
[Al Quran ; 33:16]

قُلْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً ۚ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا (17)

Say: Who is it that can shield you from Allah if He wants for you evil or wants for you mercy? And they will not find for themselves other than Allah any guardian or any helper.
[Al Quran ; 33:17]

قَدْ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَالْقَائِلِينَ لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا ۖ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ الْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (18)

Allah certainly knows the hinderers among you and those who say to their brothers: Come to us (and do not fight). And they did not attend the fight except a little.
[Al Quran ; 33:18]

أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ الْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَالَّذِي يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ ۖ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ الْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُمْ بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى الْخَيْرِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا فَأَحْبَطَ اللَّهُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا (19)

Unwilling (to fight) with you; and when fear comes, you see them looking at you, (while) their eyes roll like one being overcome by death. And when fear departs, they lash at you with sharp tongues, unwilling for good. Those have not believed, so Allah has nullified their deeds; and ever is that, upon Allah, easy.
[Al Quran ; 33:19]

يَحْسَبُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا ۖ وَإِنْ يَأْتِ الْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ بَادُونَ فِي الْأَعْرَابِ يَسْأَلُونَ عَنْ أَنْبَائِكُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كَانُوا فِيكُمْ مَا قَاتَلُوا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (20)

They think that the allies did not depart. And if the allies should come (again), they would wish to be in the desert among the bedouins, asking about your news. And if they were among you, they would not fight except a little.

Translation

Verses 1-20

---

Translation

Verses 21-40

---

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا (21)

There has certainly been for you a good example in the messenger of Allah for whoever desires Allah and the last day and remembers Allah often.
[Al Quran ; 33:21]

وَلَمَّا رَأَى الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَصَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ۚ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا وَتَسْلِيمًا (22)

And when the believers saw the allies, they said: This is what Allah and His messenger promised us, and Allah and His messenger spoke the truth. And it did not increase them except in faith and submission.

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا (23)

Of the believers are men who are true upon that for which they made a covenant with Allah. So among them is one who accomplished his vow, and among them is one who awaits, and they did not alter (their covenant) by any alteration.
[Al Quran ; 33:23]

لِيَجْزِيَ اللَّهُ الصَّادِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ إِنْ شَاءَ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا (24)

That Allah may reward the truthful for their truth and punish the hypocrites if He wills or accepts their repentance. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 33:24]

وَرَدَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا خَيْرًا ۚ وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا (25)

And Allah repelled those who have disbelieved, in their rage; they did not obtain any good. And sufficient is Allah for the believers in fighting; and Allah is ever Strong, Mighty.
[Al Quran ; 33:25]

وَأَنْزَلَ الَّذِينَ ظَاهَرُوهُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ صَيَاصِيهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ فَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ وَتَأْسِرُونَ فَرِيقًا (26)

And He brought down those who supported them among the people of the book from their fortresses and cast into their hearts terror; a team you killed and you took captive another team.
[Al Quran ; 33:26]

وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ أَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَارَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ وَأَرْضًا لَمْ تَطَئُوهَا ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرًا (27)

And He caused you to inherit their land and their dwellings and their wealth and a land which you have not yet trodden. And ever is Allah over everything Capable.
[Al Quran ; 33:27]

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ إِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا (28)

O Prophet! Say to your wives: If you want the life of this world and its adornment, then come, I will provide for your maintenance and will release you a good release (divorce).
[Al Quran ; 33:28]

وَإِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَاتِ مِنْكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا (29)

And if you want Allah and His messenger and the dwelling of the hereafter, then indeed, Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward.
[Al Quran ; 33:29]

يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ مَنْ يَأْتِ مِنْكُنَّ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَاعَفْ لَهَا الْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا (30)

O wives of the prophet! Whoever among you commits a clear indecency, punishment will be multiplied for her two fold; and ever is that upon Allah easy.
[Al Quran ; 33:30]

وَمَنْ يَقْنُتْ مِنْكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا نُؤْتِهَا أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقًا كَرِيمًا (31)

And whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His messenger and does a good deed, We will give her her reward twice; and We have prepared for her a noble provision.
[Al Quran ; 33:31]

يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ۚ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا (32)

O wives of the Prophet! You are not like anyone among women; If you will fear, then be not soft in (your) saying, lest one in whose heart is a disease should aspire; and say a kind saying.
[Al Quran ; 33:32]

وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَأَقِمْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتِينَ الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِعْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا (33)

And remain in your houses and do not display your adornment as was the adornment display of former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give Zakah (Alms) and obey Allah and His messenger. Allah only wants to remove from you impurity, O people of the house! And to purify you with (extensive) purification.
[Al Quran ; 33:33]

وَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا (34)

And remember what is recited in your houses of the signs of Allah and wisdom; indeed Allah is ever Subtle, Acquainted.
[Al Quran ; 33:34]

إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِ وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالصَّادِقَاتِ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّابِرَاتِ وَالْخَاشِعِينَ وَالْخَاشِعَاتِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِ وَالصَّائِمِينَ وَالصَّائِمَاتِ وَالْحَافِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَالْحَافِظَاتِ وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا (35)

Indeed, (for) the Muslim men and the Muslim women, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obedient men and the obedient women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women, and the humble men and the humble women, and the men who give alms and the women who give alms, and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard (likewise), and the men who remember Allah often and the women who remember (Allah), Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.
[Al Quran ; 33:35]

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا مُبِينًا (36)

And it is not for a believing man or for a believing woman, when Allah and His messenger have decided a matter, that they should have any choice about their matter. And whoever disobeys Allah and His messenger, he is certainly strayed into obvious misguidance.
[Al Quran ; 33:36]

وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِي أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ وَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَاهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ زَيْدٌ مِنْهَا وَطَرًا زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌ فِي أَزْوَاجِ أَدْعِيَائِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ مَفْعُولًا (37)

And when you said to him upon whom Allah bestowed favour and upon whom you bestowed a favour: Hold your wife with you and fear Allah. And you concealed within yourself that which Allah would reveal. And you feared the people while Allah is more worthy to be feared. So when Zayd had dissolved from her his needs, We marry off you to her in order that there not be upon the believers any blame concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they have dissolved from them their needs. And ever is the command of Allah accomplished.
[Al Quran ; 33:37]

مَا كَانَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ مِنْ حَرَجٍ فِيمَا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ۖ سُنَّةَ اللَّهِ فِي الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قَدَرًا مَقْدُورًا (38)

There is not upon the prophet any blame concerning that which Allah has imposed for him; the course of Allah with those who have passed on before. And ever is the command of Allah a destined decree.
[Al Quran ; 33:38]

الَّذِينَ يُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَالَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَخْشَوْنَهُ وَلَا يَخْشَوْنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ حَسِيبًا (39)

Those who convey the messages of Allah and fear Him and do not fear anyone except Allah; and sufficient is Allah as a Reckoner.
[Al Quran ; 33:39]

مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا (40)

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And ever is Allah of everything, Knowing.

Al-Ahzab (The Allies)

Translation

Verses 21-40

---

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا (21)

There has certainly been for you a good example in the messenger of Allah for whoever desires Allah and the last day and remembers Allah often.
[Al Quran ; 33:21]

وَلَمَّا رَأَى الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَصَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ۚ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا وَتَسْلِيمًا (22)

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا (41)

O you who have believed! Remember Allah with much remembrance.
[Al Quran ; 33:41]

وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا (42)

And glorify Him morning and afternoon.
[Al Quran ; 33:42]

---

هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَائِكَتُهُ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ ۚ وَكَانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًا (43)

He is the One Who responds to you, and His angels (ask Him to do so) that He may bring you out from darkness into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 33:43]

تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُ سَلَامٌ ۚ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَرِيمًا (44)

Their greeting the day they meet Him will be Peace; and He has prepared for them a noble reward.
[Al Quran ; 33:44]

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا (45)

O Prophet! Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and (as) a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
[Al Quran ; 33:45]

وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُنِيرًا (46)

And one who invites to Allah by His permission and (by) an illuminating lamp.
[Al Quran ; 33:46]

---

وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ فَضْلًا كَبِيرًا (47)

And give good tidings to the believers that for them will be, from Allah, an enormous grace.
[Al Quran ; 33:47]

---

وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَاهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا (48)

And do not obey the unbelievers and the hypocrites and disregard their harm, and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Protector.
[Al Quran ; 33:48]

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّونَهَا ۖ فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا (49)

O you who have believed! When you marry the believing women and divorce them before you touch them, then there is not for you upon them any waiting period to observe; and provide for their maintenance and release them a good release.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَاجَكَ اللَّاتِي آتَيْتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّاتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالَاتِكَ اللَّاتِي هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ وَامْرَأَةً مُؤْمِنَةً إِنْ وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِيِّ إِنْ أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ أَنْ يَسْتَنْكِحَهَا خَالِصَةً لَكَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۗ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِي أَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ لِكَيْلَا يَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا (50)

O prophet! Indeed, We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their dowries and those whom your oath possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you (of captives of wars), and the daughters of the brother of your father, and the daughters of the sisters of your father, and the daughters of the brother of your mother, and the daughters of the sisters of your mother who emigrated with you, and a believing woman if she gives herself to the prophet (and) if the prophet wanted to marry her, exclusive for you other than the believers. We know what We have ordained upon them concerning their wives and those whom their oaths possess, so that there should be upon you no blame. And ever is Allah Forgiving, Merciful.

تُرْجِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوِي إِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ وَمَنِ ابْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰ أَنْ تَقَرَّ أَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَا آتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَلِيمًا (51)

You may put aside whom you will of them, and you may take for yourself whom you will. And anyone you desire of those whom you had separated; there should be upon you no blame. That is most proper so that their eyes may be joyful and not grieve and be pleased with what you have given all of them. And Allah knows what is in your hearts; and ever is Allah, Knowing, Forbearing.
[Al Quran ; 33:51]

لَا يَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدُ وَلَا أَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رَقِيبًا (52)

Not lawful to you, are (additional) women after (this), nor for you to exchange them for other wives, even if their goodness pleases you, except what your oath possesses. And ever is Allah, over everything, Watching.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ وَلَٰكِنْ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ فَادْخُلُوا فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَانْتَشِرُوا وَلَا مُسْتَأْنِسِينَ لِحَدِيثٍ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِي النَّبِيَّ فَيَسْتَحْيِي مِنْكُمْ ۖ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ ۚ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تُؤْذُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَنْ تَنْكِحُوا أَزْوَاجَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَبَدًا ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَظِيمًا (53)

O you who have believed! Do not enter the houses of the prophet except after permission is given to you for food, not waiting for its cooking (to finish). But when you are invited, then enter, and when you have been fed, then disperse, not seeking to listen to (his) saying; indeed, that harms the prophet, and he is shy of you. But Allah is not shy from the truth. And when you ask them (the prophet wives) for maintenance, ask them from behind a veil; that is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it not (lawful) for you that you harm the messenger of Allah, nor that you marry his wives after him ever. Indeed, that would be, in the sight of Allah, great (sin).

إِنْ تُبْدُوا شَيْئًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا (54)

If you reveal a thing or conceal it, then indeed, ever is Allah, of everything, Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 33:54]

---

لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فِي آبَائِهِنَّ وَلَا أَبْنَائِهِنَّ وَلَا إِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَلَا أَبْنَاءِ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَلَا أَبْنَاءِ أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ وَلَا نِسَائِهِنَّ وَلَا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ ۗ وَاتَّقِينَ اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدًا (55)

There is no blame upon them concerning their fathers or their brothers or the sons of their brothers or the sons of their sisters or their women or those possessed by their oaths. And fear Allah; indeed, ever is Allah, over everything, Witness.
[Al Quran ; 33:55]

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا (56)

Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessing upon the prophet; O you who have believed! Seek blessings upon him, and ask (Allah) to grant (him) peace.
[Al Quran ; 33:56]

---

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُهِينًا (57)

Indeed, those who (try to) harm Allah and His messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and the hereafter, and He has prepared for them a humiliating torture.
[Al Quran ; 33:57]

---

وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلُوا بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُبِينًا (58)

And those who harm the believing men and the believing women without earning (it), they have certainly born falsehood and an obvious sin.
[Al Quran ; 33:58]

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلَابِيبِهِنَّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰ أَنْ يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا (59)

O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to lower over themselves their garments, that is better than being recognised so they will not be harmed. And ever is Allah, Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 33:59]

لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْمُرْجِفُونَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (60)

If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumours in the city do not cease, We will surely incite you against them, then they will not be your neighbours therein except a little.

Al-Ahzab (The Allies)

Translation

Verses 41-60

---

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا (41)

O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to lower over themselves their garments, that is better than being recognised so they will not be harmed. And ever is Allah, Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 33:59]

لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْمُرْجِفُونَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (60)

If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumours in the city do not cease, We will surely incite you against them, then they will not be your neighbours therein except a little.

Al-Ahzab (The Allies)

Translation

Verses 61-73

---

مَلْعُونِينَ ۖ أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وَقُتِّلُوا تَقْتِيلًا (61)

Accursed wherever they were confronted, being seized and killed a horrible killing.
[Al Quran ; 33:61]

---

سُنَّةَ اللَّهِ فِي الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا (62)

The course of Allah concerning those who have passed on before; and you will not find in the course of Allah any change.
[Al Quran ; 33:62]

يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا (63)

The people ask you about the hour. Say: The knowledge of it is only with Allah. And what may make you realize? Perhaps the hour will be near.
[Al Quran ; 33:63]

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَنَ الْكَافِرِينَ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ سَعِيرًا (64)

Indeed, Allah has cursed the unbelievers and has prepared for them a burning fire.
[Al Quran ; 33:64]

---

خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ لَا يَجِدُونَ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا (65)

Abide therein forever; they will not find any guardian or any helper.
[Al Quran ; 33:65]

---

يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَا لَيْتَنَا أَطَعْنَا اللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا الرَّسُولَا (66)

The day their faces will be turned into the fire, they will say: How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the messenger.
[Al Quran ; 33:66]

وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا إِنَّا أَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَاءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا السَّبِيلَا (67)

And they will say: Our Lord! Indeed, we obeyed our masters and our leaders, and they misguided us from the way.
[Al Quran ; 33:67]

رَبَّنَا آتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيرًا (68)

Our Lord! Give them double the torture and curse them with a great curse.
[Al Quran ; 33:68]

---

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ آذَوْا مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ اللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا ۚ وَكَانَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَجِيهًا (69)

O you who have believed! Be not like those who harmed Musa, so Allah cleared him of what they said. And he was in the sight of Allah well presented.
[Al Quran ; 33:69]

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا (70)

O you who have believed! Fear Allah and say an appropriate saying.
[Al Quran ; 33:70]

---

يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا (71)

He will amend for you your (bad) deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His messenger, he has certainly won a great attainment.
[Al Quran ; 33:71]

إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَنْ يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنْسَانُ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا (72)

Indeed, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and feared it, and the human bore it; indeed he was unjust, (and) ignorant.
[Al Quran ; 33:72]

لِيُعَذِّبَ اللَّهُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ وَالْمُشْرِكَاتِ وَيَتُوبَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا (73)

So Allah will castigate the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the polytheist men and the polytheist women. And Allah will accept repentance from the believing men and the believing women; and ever is Allah Forgiver, (and) Merciful.

Translation
