Al-Naml (The Ants)

Translation

Verses 1-20

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Ta Seen, these are the signs of the Quran and an obvious book.
[Al Quran ; 27:1]

As guidance and good tidings for the believers.
[Al Quran ; 27:2]

Who establish prayer and give Zakah (alms), and they are of the hereafter certain.
[Al Quran ; 27:3]

Indeed, for those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have decorated for them their deeds, so they wander blindly.
[Al Quran ; 27:4]

It is them for whom there will be the worst of torture, and they are in the hereafter the greatest losers.
[Al Quran ; 27:5]

And indeed, you receive the Quran from One Who is Wise, Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 27:6]

When Musa said to his family: I have perceived a fire, I will bring from it news or will bring a burning torch that you may warm yourselves.
[Al Quran ; 27:7]

So when he came to it, he was called: Blessed is whoever at the fire and around it, and glory be to Allah the Lord of the worlds.
[Al Quran ; 27:8]

O Musa! Indeed, I am Allah the Mighty, the Wise.
[Al Quran ; 27:9]

And throw your staff. And when he saw it shaking as if it was a jinn, he turned back (fleeing) and did not return. (Allah said:) O Musa! Do not fear; indeed, in My presence the messengers should not fear.
[Al Quran ; 27:10]

Except one who was unjust and substituted good after evil. And indeed, I am Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 27:11]

And put your hands in your pocket, it will emerge white without harm, in nine sings to Firon and his people. Indeed, they have been disobedient people.
[Al Quran ; 27:12]

And when Our visible signs came to them, they said: This is an obvious magic.
[Al Quran ; 27:13]

And they rejected them, and their minds were convinced unjustly and arrogantly. So look how was the consequence for the mischief makers.
[Al Quran ; 27:14]

And We gave Dawood and Solaiman knowledge, and they both said: Praise be to Allah Who preferred us over many of His believing servants.
[Al Quran ; 27:15]

And Solaiman inherited Dawood, and he said: O People! We have been taught the language of the birds, and we have been given of everything; indeed, this is obvious grace.
[Al Quran ; 27:16]

And gathered for Solaiman, his soldiers of the jinn and the humans and the birds. And they were marching (in rows).
[Al Quran ; 27:17]

Until, when they came to the valley of the ants, an ant said: O ants! Enter your homes so you do not get crushed by Solaiman and his soldiers while they do not perceive.
[Al Quran ; 27:18]

So he (Solaiman) smiled laughing of its saying and said: My Lord! Enable me to thank Your grace which You bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do a good deed of which You will be pleased and admit me by Your mercy with Your righteous servants.
[Al Quran ; 27:19]

And he (Solaiman) checked the birds and said: Why I cannot see the hoopoe, or is it among the absents?
[Al Quran ; 27:20]

Al-Naml (The Ants)

Translation

Verses 21-40

I will surely castigate it (the hoopoe) with severe torture or slaughter it or it should bring to me an obvious authority.
[Al Quran ; 27:21]

And it (the hoopoe) stayed not too long and said: I have encompassed that which you did not encompass, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.
[Al Quran ; 27:22]

Indeed, I have found a woman who rules them and was given of everything; and for her is a great throne.
[Al Quran ; 27:23]

I found her and her people prostrating to the sun other than Allah. And the devil decorated for them their deeds and hindered them from the way, so they are not guided.
[Al Quran ; 27:24]

That they do not prostrate to Allah, Who unveils what is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you announce.
[Al Quran ; 27:25]

Allah, there is no God except He, the Lord of the great throne.
[Al Quran ; 27:26]

He (Solaiman) said: We will see whether you were truthful or were of the lairs.
[Al Quran ; 27:27]

Go with this book of mine, then turn away from them and see what they will return.
[Al Quran ; 27:28]

She (the queen of Sheba) said: O chiefs! Indeed, it has been delivered to me an honourable writing.
[Al Quran ; 27:29]

Indeed, it is from Solaiman,; and indeed, (it reads): In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 27:30]

Do not exalt against me and come to me submitters.
[Al Quran ; 27:31]

She (the queen of Sheba) said: O chiefs! Advice me in my command. I would not be making a command until you are witnessing.
[Al Quran ; 27:32]

They said: We possess strength and possess great power, but the command is yours, so see what you will command.
[Al Quran ; 27:33]

She (the queen of Sheba) said: Indeed, the kings, when they enter a village, they destroy it and make its most honoured people humiliated, and thus do they do.
[Al Quran ; 27:34]

And I am sending to them a gift and will be seeing with what the messengers will return.
[Al Quran ; 27:35]

And when they came to Solaiman, he said: Do you supply me with wealth? And what Allah has supplied me is better than what He has supplied you. Rather, it is you who will be with your gift rejoicing.
[Al Quran ; 27:36]

Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers for whom there will be no match to them, and we will surely expel them from it humiliated, and while they will be disgraced.
[Al Quran ; 27:37]

He (Solaiman) said: O chiefs! Who of you may bring me her throne before they come to me submitters?
[Al Quran ; 27:38]

A powerful one from the jinn said: I will bring it to you before you stand from your position; and indeed, I am surely over it strong, honest.
[Al Quran ; 27:39]

The one who had knowledge from the book said: I will bring it to you before your eyelid returns back. And when he (Solaiman) saw it placed before him, he said: This is from the grace of my Lord to test me whether I be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful, then indeed, he is only grateful for (the benefit of) himself. And whoever is ungrateful, then indeed, my Lord is Rich, Honourable.
[Al Quran ; 27:40]

Al-Naml (The Ants)

Translation

Verses 41-60

He (Solaiman) said: Disguise for her her throne, we will see whether she will be guided or will be of those who are not guided.
[Al Quran ; 27:41]

So when she came (to Solaiman), it was said: Is this like your throne? She said: It is as though like it. (Solaiman said): And we were given the knowledge before her, and we were submitters.
[Al Quran ; 27:42]

And she was hindered by that which she used to worship other than Allah; indeed, she was from a disbelieving people.
[Al Quran ; 27:43]

It was said to her: Enter the building; but when she saw it, she thought of it to be a pool and exposed her shins. He (Solaiman) said: Indeed, it is a building made of smooth glass. She said: My Lord! Indeed, I have been unjust to myself, and I submit with Solaiman to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
[Al Quran ; 27:44]

And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih (saying): Worship Allah. And at once they were two teams conflicting.
[Al Quran ; 27:45]

He (Salih) said: O people! Why you hasten for bad before good? Will you seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?
[Al Quran ; 27:46]

They said: We are hopeless of you and those with you. He (Salih) said: Your hopelessness is with Allah, rather you are people who are being tested.
[Al Quran ; 27:47]

And there were in the city nine persons making mischief in the land and not amending.
[Al Quran ; 27:48]

They said: Take an oath by Allah that we will surely assault him and his family by night, then we will say to his guardian: We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.
[Al Quran ; 27:49]

And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan while they do perceive.
[Al Quran ; 27:50]

So see how was the consequence of their plan. Indeed, We destroyed them and their people all together.
[Al Quran ; 27:51]

And those are their houses, destroyed because they did injustice. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who know.
[Al Quran ; 27:52]

And We saved those who have believed and used to fear.
[Al Quran ; 27:53]

And Lut, when he said to his people: Do you commit indecency while you are seeing?
[Al Quran ; 27:54]

Do you approach men in lust other than women? Rather, you are people who are ignorant.
[Al Quran ; 27:55]

And the answer of his people was not except that they said: Expel the family of Lut from your village; indeed, they are people who want to be purified.
[Al Quran ; 27:56]

So We saved him and his family, except his wife, We destined her to be of those remained behind.
[Al Quran ; 27:57]

And We rained upon them a rain; and miserable was the rain for those who were warned.
[Al Quran ; 27:58]

Say: Praise be to Allah, and peace be upon His servants. Is Allah better or what they associate (with Him)?
[Al Quran ; 27:59]

Is He Who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you from the sky water; and We planted thereby gardens of beauty; which you could not have planted its tree thereof, or is there a god with Allah? Rather, they are people who make equals (to Allah).
[Al Quran ; 27:60]

Al-Naml (The Ants)

Translation

Verses 61-80

Is He (the only God) Who made the earth stable and made within it rivers and made for it mountains and made between the two sees a barrier, or is there a god with Allah? Rather, most of them do not know.
[Al Quran ; 27:61]

Is He (the only God) Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you successors of the land, or is there a god with Allah? Rather, little that you remember.
[Al Quran ; 27:62]

Is He (the only God) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and sea and Who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, or is there a god with Allah? Rather, exalted is Allah above what they associate (with Him).
[Al Quran ; 27:63]

Is He (the only God) Who starts the creation then repeats it and Who provides you from the heaven and the earth, or is there a god with Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if you should be truthful.
[Al Quran ; 27:64]

Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah; and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.
[Al Quran ; 27:65]

Rather, their knowledge is little concerning the hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.
[Al Quran ; 27:66]

And those who have disbelieved said: If we were dust as well as our father, will we indeed be brought out?
[Al Quran ; 27:67]

We have certainly been promised this, we and our fathers before. Indeed, this is only the legends of the former (people).
[Al Quran ; 27:68]

Say: Walk in the land and look how was the consequence for the criminals.
[Al Quran ; 27:69]

And do not grieve over them and be not in distress of what they plan.
[Al Quran ; 27:70]

And they say: When is this promise, if you should be truthful?
[Al Quran ; 27:71]

Say: Perhaps it is close to you, some of that for which you hasten.
[Al Quran ; 27:72]

And indeed, your Lord has grace upon the people, but most of them do not show gratitude.
[Al Quran ; 27:73]

And indeed, your Lord knows what their chests conceal and what they announce.
[Al Quran ; 27:74]

And there is nothing unseen in the heaven and the earth except that it is in an obvious book.
[Al Quran ; 27:75]

Indeed, this Quran relates to the sons of Israel most of that in which they disagree.
[Al Quran ; 27:76]

And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.
[Al Quran ; 27:77]

Indeed, your Lord will decree between them with His judgment; and He is the Mighty, the Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 27:78]

And rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the obvious truth.
[Al Quran ; 27:79]

Indeed, you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned back retreating.
[Al Quran ; 27:80]

Al-Naml (The Ants)

Translation

Verses 81-93

And you will not be guiding the blind away from their misguidance. You are only making those hear, who believe in Our signs so they are submitters.
[Al Quran ; 27:81]

And when the saying comes to pass upon them, We will bring for them a walking creature from the earth talking to them, (saying) that the people were, of Our signs, not certain.
[Al Quran ; 27:82]

And the day We will gather from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, and they will be organised (in rows).
[Al Quran ; 27:83]

Until they come (before Allah), He (Allah) will say: Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what have you been doing?
[Al Quran ; 27:84]

And the saying comes to pass upon them for the injustice they did, and they will not speak.
[Al Quran ; 27:85]

Do they not see that We made the night so they may rest therein and the day giving light? Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.
[Al Quran ; 27:86]

And the day the trumpet will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him yielding.
[Al Quran ; 27:87]

And you see the mountains thinking that they are rigid while they pass as the passing of the clouds. The work of Allah Who perfected everything. Indeed, He is Acquainted of what you do.
[Al Quran ; 27:88]

Whoever comes with a good deed, then for him is better than it. And they are, from the terror on that day, safe.
[Al Quran ; 27:89]

And whoever comes with a bad deed, then their faces will be overturned into the fire. Are you rewarded except for what you used to do?
[Al Quran ; 27:90]

Indeed, I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this town which He made sacred and to Him belongs everything. And I have been commanded to be of the submitters.
[Al Quran ; 27:91]

And to recite the Quran. And whoever is guided is only guided for himself; and whoever is misguided then say: Indeed, I am only of the warners.
[Al Quran ; 27:92]

And say: Praise be to Allah, He will show you His signs so you know it. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.
[Al Quran ; 27:93]
