Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 1-20

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Their reckoning has drawn near to the people, while they are in unawareness turning away.
[Al Quran ; 21:1]

There comes not to them of any reminder from their Lord except they hear it while playing.
[Al Quran ; 21:2]

Their hearts are preoccupied; and those who did injustice conceal their conversation (saying): Is this (prophet) except a human like you? So would you approach magic while you see?
[Al Quran ; 21:3]

He (the prophet) said: My Lord knows any saying in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 21:4]

Rather they said: Non sensible dreams, rather he has forged it, rather he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign just as the former (prophets) were sent.
[Al Quran ; 21:5]

Not a village which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe?
[Al Quran ; 21:6]

And We did not send before you except men to whom We reveal, so ask the people of the reminder if you do not know.
[Al Quran ; 21:7]

And We did not make them bodies not eating food, nor were they immortal.
[Al Quran ; 21:8]

Then We fulfilled to them the promise and saved them and those whom We willed and destroyed the extravagant.
[Al Quran ; 21:9]

We have certainly sent down to you a book in which is your reminder; so will you not understand?
[Al Quran ; 21:10]

And how many a village which was unjust have We shattered and established after it another people.
[Al Quran ; 21:11]

So when they felt Our wrath, at once they flee from it.
[Al Quran ; 21:12]

Do not flee and return to where you were given luxury and to your homes, perhaps you will be questioned.
[Al Quran ; 21:13]

They said: O woe to us; indeed, we were unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:14]

And that saying of theirs ceased not until We made them an extinct harvest.
[Al Quran ; 21:15]

And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in play.
[Al Quran ; 21:16]

Had We wanted to take a diversion, We would have taken it from (what is with) Ourselves, if We were to do (so).
[Al Quran ; 21:17]

Rather, We cast the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, so at once it vanishes. And woe to you for what you describe.
[Al Quran ; 21:18]

And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth; and those who are with Him are not arrogant over worshiping Him, nor do they get tired.
[Al Quran ; 21:19]

They glorify (Him) night and day; they slacken not.
[Al Quran ; 21:20]

Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 21-40

Or have they taken gods from the earth who resurrect.
[Al Quran ; 21:21]

If there had been within them (the heavens and the earth) any gods except Allah, they both would have been ruined. So glory be to Allah, the Lord of the throne, above what they describe.
[Al Quran ; 21:22]

He is not questioned concerning what He does, and they will be questioned.
[Al Quran ; 21:23]

Or have they taken other than Him gods? Say: Bring your proof. This is the mention of those with me and the mention of those before me. Rather, most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.
[Al Quran ; 21:24]

And We did not send before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that there is no god except Me, so worship Me.
[Al Quran ; 21:25]

And they said: The Compassionate has taken a child. Glory be to Him. Rather, they are honoured servants.
[Al Quran ; 21:26]

They do not precede Him in any saying, and by His command they work.
[Al Quran ; 21:27]

He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except for one whom He approves. And they are, from fear of Him, apprehensive.
[Al Quran ; 21:28]

And if it was said by any of them: Indeed, I am a god other than Him. For that, We will reward him with hell; thus do We reward the unjust people.
[Al Quran ; 21:29]

Have those who have disbelieved not seen that the heavens and the earth were joined, then We separated them and made from water every living thing. So will they not believe?
[Al Quran ; 21:30]

And We have made on the earth mountains, lest it may shift with them, and We have made therein roadways that perhaps they seek guidance.
[Al Quran ; 21:31]

And We have made the heaven a protected ceiling, while they are from its signs turning away.
[Al Quran ; 21:32]

And it is He Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all are in an orbit swimming.
[Al Quran ; 21:33]

And We did not grant to any human before you eternity. So if you die, would they be eternal?
[Al Quran ; 21:34]

Every soul will be tasting death; and We test you by evil and good as trial. And to Us you will be returned.
[Al Quran ; 21:35]

And when those who have disbelieved see you, they do not take you except for ridicule (saying): Is this the one who mentions your gods? And they are with the mention of the Compassionate unbelievers.
[Al Quran ; 21:36]

The human is created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not ask Me to hasten.
[Al Quran ; 21:37]

And they say: When is this promise, if you should be truthful?
[Al Quran ; 21:38]

If those who have disbelieved but knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be helped.
[Al Quran ; 21:39]

Rather, it will come to them suddenly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.
[Al Quran ; 21:40]

Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 41-60

And already were messengers mocked before you, so those who ridiculed them were enveloped by what they used to mock.
[Al Quran ; 21:41]

Say: Who guards you by night and by day from the Compassionate? Rather, they are from the reminder of their Lord turning away.
[Al Quran ; 21:42]

Or, do they have gods who can defend them other than Us? They cannot help themselves, and they will not be for Us friends.
[Al Quran ; 21:43]

Rather, We provided for these and their fathers until age prolonged upon them. And do they not see that We come to the earth decreasing it of its ends? So is it them who will prevail?
[Al Quran ; 21:44]

Say: I only warn you by revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are warned.
[Al Quran ; 21:45]

And if a whiff of torture from your Lord touches them, they will surely say: O woe to us! Indeed, we were unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:46]

And We place the scales of justice for the day of resurrection, so no soul will be dealt with unjustly in anything. And even if it is the weight of a grain of mustard seed, We will bring it, and sufficient are Us as reckoners.
[Al Quran ; 21:47]

And We have certainly given Musa and Harun the criterion and a light and a reminder for the pious.
[Al Quran ; 21:48]

Those who fear their Lord while (He is) unseen, and they are of the hour apprehensive.
[Al Quran ; 21:49]

And this is a blessed reminder which We have sent down; will you then be concerning it deniers?
[Al Quran ; 21:50]

And We have certainly given Ibrahim his sound judgment before, and We were of him Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 21:51]

When he said to his father and his people: What are these statues to which you are devoted?
[Al Quran ; 21:52]

They said: We found our fathers to them worshippers.
[Al Quran ; 21:53]

He said: You have certainly been, you and your fathers, in obvious misguidance.
[Al Quran ; 21:54]

They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the players?
[Al Quran ; 21:55]

He said: Rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth Who originated them, and I am upon that of the witnesses.
[Al Quran ; 21:56]

And by Allah, I will surely scheme against your statues after you turn and go away.
[Al Quran ; 21:57]

So he made them into fragments, except a large one of them, perhaps they may to it return.
[Al Quran ; 21:58]

They said: Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:59]

They said: We heard a young man mentioning them who is called Ibrahim.
[Al Quran ; 21:60]

Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 61-80

They said: Then bring him before the eyes of the people that perhaps they will testify.
[Al Quran ; 21:61]

They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim?
[Al Quran ; 21:62]

He said: Rather, this largest of them did it, so ask them if they could speak.
[Al Quran ; 21:63]

Then they returned to themselves and said: Indeed, you are the unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:64]

Then they turned to themselves (saying): You have certainly known that these do not speak.
[Al Quran ; 21:65]

He said: So do you worship other than Allah that which does not benefit you in anything or harm you?
[Al Quran ; 21:66]

Uff to you and to what you worship other than Allah, so will you not understand?
[Al Quran ; 21:67]

They said: Burn him and support your gods, if you should be doing (something).
[Al Quran ; 21:68]

We said: O fire! Be cool and safe upon Ibrahim.
[Al Quran ; 21:69]

And they desired for him a plot, so We made them the greatest losers.
[Al Quran ; 21:70]

And We saved him and Lut to the land which We had blessed for the worlds.
[Al Quran ; 21:71]

And We gave him Ishaq and Yaqoub, in addition, and all of them We made righteous.
[Al Quran ; 21:72]

And We made them leaders who guided (others) by Our command; and We revealed to them the doing of good and the establishment of prayer and the giving of Zakah (Alms), and they were of Us worshippers.
[Al Quran ; 21:73]

And Lut, We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and We saved him from the village that were doing evil deeds. Indeed, they have been bad people, disobedient.
[Al Quran ; 21:74]

And We admitted him into Our mercy; indeed, he was of the righteous.
[Al Quran ; 21:75]

And Nuh when he called (Us) before, We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great calamity.
[Al Quran ; 21:76]

And We supported him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed, they were bad people, so We drowned them all together.
[Al Quran ; 21:77]

And Dawood and Sulaiman when they judged concerning the crop when the sheep of the people ate it at night, so We were over their judgment Witnessing.
[Al Quran ; 21:78]

So We made Sulaiman to understand it; and to each (of them) We gave wisdom and knowledge. And We subjected with Dawood the mountains to glorify (Us), and the birds. And We were doing (that).
[Al Quran ; 21:79]

And We taught him the making of coats (of armour) for you to protect you in your distress (during wars). So will you be grateful?
[Al Quran ; 21:80]

Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 81-100

And to Sulaiman, (We subjected) the wind blowing, running by his command to the land which We had blessed. And We are ever of everything Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 21:81]

And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them Guardians.
[Al Quran ; 21:82]

And Ayub, when he called upon his Lord: Indeed, harm has touched me, and You are the most Merciful of the merciful.
[Al Quran ; 21:83]

So We responded to him and removed what he had of harm. And We gave him his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers.
[Al Quran ; 21:84]

And Ismail and Idris and Zul-Kifl, all were of the patient.
[Al Quran ; 21:85]

And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.
[Al Quran ; 21:86]

And Zal-Noon (Yunus), when he went away in anger and thought that We would not have power over him. So he called out within the darkness: There is no god except You, glory be to You; indeed, I have been of the unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:87]

So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.
[Al Quran ; 21:88]

And Zakariah, when he called upon his Lord: My Lord! Do not leave me alone and You are the best of inheritors.
[Al Quran ; 21:89]

So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and to call upon Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humble.
[Al Quran ; 21:90]

And she (Mariam) who protected her private parts, so We blew into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.
[Al Quran ; 21:91]

Indeed, this is your nation, one nation, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.
[Al Quran ; 21:92]

And they severed their affair between them (divided into sects); all to Us will return.
[Al Quran ; 21:93]

So whoever does of good deeds while he is a believer, there will be no denial to his effort; and indeed We are of it writers.
[Al Quran ; 21:94]

And there is prohibition upon a village which We have destroyed that they will not return (to Us).
[Al Quran ; 21:95]

Until when (the dam of) Yagog and Magog has been opened, and they, from every elevation, descend.
[Al Quran ; 21:96]

And the true promise has come near; then the eyes of those who have disbelieved will be staring (while saying): O woe to us! Indeed, we were in unawareness of this; rather, we were unjust.
[Al Quran ; 21:97]

Indeed, you and what you worship other than Allah are the crushed rocks of hell; you will be coming to it.
[Al Quran ; 21:98]

Had these been gods, they would not have come to it, and all are therein abiding.
[Al Quran ; 21:99]

For them therein will be exhaling, and they will not therein hear.
[Al Quran ; 21:100]

Al-Anbya (The Prophets)

Translation

Verses 101-112

Indeed, those for whom the good has preceded from Us, they are from it (hell) far removed.
[Al Quran ; 21:101]

They will not hear its sound, and they will be, in that which their souls desired, abiding.
[Al Quran ; 21:102]

The great fear will not grieve them, and the angels will meet them, (saying): This is your day which you have been promised.
[Al Quran ; 21:103]

The day when We will fold the heaven like folding of the sheets of books. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it; a promise upon Us. Indeed, We will be doing (it).
[Al Quran ; 21:104]

And We certainly have written in the Psalms after the reminder that the land will be inherited by My righteous servants.
[Al Quran ; 21:105]

Indeed, in this is a notification for a worshipping people.
[Al Quran ; 21:106]

And We have not sent you except as a mercy for those who have knowledge.
[Al Quran ; 21:107]

Say: It is only revealed to me that your god is one God; so will you be submitters?
[Al Quran ; 21:108]

And if they turn away, say: I have informed you all equally, and I do not know whether near or far is that which you are promised.
[Al Quran ; 21:109]

Indeed, He knows what is declared of saying, and He knows what you conceal.
[Al Quran ; 21:110]

And I do not know; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time.
[Al Quran ; 21:111]

He (the prophet) said: My Lord! Judge in truth. And our Lord is the Compassionate, the One Whose aid is sought against that which you describe.
[Al Quran ; 21:112]
