Al-Raad (The Thunder)
Translation
Verses 21-43
وَالَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوءَ الْحِسَابِ (21)
And those who join that which Allah has commanded to be joined and fear their Lord and fear the evil of reckoning.
[Al Quran ; 13:21]
وَالَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْفَقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ (22)
And those who have been patient desiring the face of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend of what We have provided them secretly and publicly. It is them for whom will be the consequence of the home.
[Al Quran ; 13:22]
جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۖ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ بَابٍ (23)
The gardens of Eden, they will enter them along with whoever was righteous from among their fathers and their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate.
[Al Quran ; 13:23]
سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ (24)
Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured; and excellent is the consequence of the home.
[Al Quran ; 13:24]
وَالَّذِينَ يَنْقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مِيثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ (25)
And those who break the covenant of Allah after entrusting it and sever what Allah has commanded to be joined and make mischief in the land. It is them for whom will be curse, and for them there will be the evil of the home.
[Al Quran ; 13:25]
اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ وَفَرِحُوا بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَاعٌ (26)
Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts (it). And they rejoice in the life of this world, while the life of this world is not in the hereafter except enjoyment.
[Al Quran ; 13:26]
وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ (27)
And those who have disbelieved say: Why has a sign not been sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: Indeed, Allah misguides whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns (to Him).
[Al Quran ; 13:27]
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ (28)
Those who have believed while whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.
[Al Quran ; 13:28]
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ طُوبَىٰ لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَآبٍ (29)
Those who have believed and done good deeds, a good state will be theirs and a good return.
[Al Quran ; 13:29]
كَذَٰلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ فِي أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهَا أُمَمٌ لِتَتْلُوَ عَلَيْهِمُ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ (30)
Thus have We sent you to a nation before which other nations have passed on so you might recite to them that which We have revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Compassionate. Say: He is my Lord, there is no god except He. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return.
[Al Quran ; 13:30]
وَلَوْ أَنَّ قُرْآنًا سُيِّرَتْ بِهِ الْجِبَالُ أَوْ قُطِّعَتْ بِهِ الْأَرْضُ أَوْ كُلِّمَ بِهِ الْمَوْتَىٰ ۗ بَلْ لِلَّهِ الْأَمْرُ جَمِيعًا ۗ أَفَلَمْ يَيْأَسِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَهَدَى النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا ۗ وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا تُصِيبُهُمْ بِمَا صَنَعُوا قَارِعَةٌ أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِنْ دَارِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ وَعْدُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ (31)
And if there was a Quran by which the mountains would be moved or by which the earth would be broken, or by which the dead would be made to speak; rather to Allah belongs the entire affair. Have those who believed not accepted that had Allah willed, He would guide the people all together? And those who have disbelieved do not cease to be struck, for what they have done, by calamity, or it will come near their homes, until there comes the promise of Allah. Indeed, Allah does not fail in promise.
[Al Quran ; 13:31]
وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ (32)
And certainly messengers were ridiculed before you, but I extended the time to those who have disbelieved; then I seized them. And how was My punishment?
[Al Quran ; 13:32]
أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ ۗ وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ ۚ أَمْ تُنَبِّئُونَهُ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ بِظَاهِرٍ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ ۗ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّوا عَنِ السَّبِيلِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ (33)
So is One Who is the Maintainer of every soul concerning what it has earned. But they made to Allah associates. Say: Give them a name. Or do you inform Him of what He does not know in the land or of what is apparent of saying? Rather, their plan was decorated to those who have disbelieved, and they hindered from the path; and whomever Allah misguides, then for him there will be no guide.
[Al Quran ; 13:33]
لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَاقٍ (34)
For them will be torture in the life of this world, and surely the torture of the hereafter is more severe, and there will not be for them against Allah any protector.
[Al Quran ; 13:34]
مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ أُكُلُهَا دَائِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا ۚ تِلْكَ عُقْبَى الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا ۖ وَعُقْبَى الْكَافِرِينَ النَّارُ (35)
The example of the garden which is promised to the pious, is that beneath which rivers flow, its food is continuous, and its shade. That is the consequence for those who fear, and the consequence for the unbelievers will be the fire.
[Al Quran ; 13:35]
وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَمِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَنْ يُنْكِرُ بَعْضَهُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلَا أُشْرِكَ بِهِ ۚ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُو وَإِلَيْهِ مَآبِ (36)
And those to whom We have given the book rejoice with what has been sent down to you, while among the parties are those who deny some of it. Say: I have only been commanded to worship Allah and not associate with Him (anything). To Him I invite and to Him will be my return.
[Al Quran ; 13:36]
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا ۚ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ بَعْدَمَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ (37)
And thus have We sent it down, an Arabic legislation. And if you follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, there will not be for you against Allah any guardian or any protector.
[Al Quran ; 13:37]
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ (38)
And We have certainly sent messengers before you and made for them spouses and descendants; and it is not for any messenger to bring a sign except by permission of Allah. For every term there is a book.
[Al Quran ; 13:38]
يَمْحُو اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ ۖ وَعِنْدَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ (39)
Allah erases what He wills and confirms, and with Him is the mother of the book.
[Al Quran ; 13:39]
وَإِنْ مَا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ وَعَلَيْنَا الْحِسَابُ (40)
And whether We show you some of what We promise them or cause you to die, upon you is only the notification (of the message) and upon Us is the reckoning.
[Al Quran ; 13:40]
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ ۚ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ (41)
Do they not see that We attend to the earth reducing it of its ends? And Allah judges; there is no adjuster to His judgment. And He is swift in reckoning.
[Al Quran ; 13:41]
وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ (42)
And those before them planned; and to Allah belongs the whole planning. He knows what every soul earns, and the unbelievers are going to know for whom will be the consequence of the home.
[Al Quran ; 13:42]
وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا ۚ قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِ (43)
And those who have disbelieved say: You are not a messenger. Say: Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you and whoever has the knowledge of the book.
