Post subject: Chapter 1 - Al-Fatiha (The Opening) - 7 verses Reply with quote

Al-Fatiha (The Opening)

Introduction

Sura Al Fatiha was revealed in Mecca before the Hijra (the migration of the prophet from Mecca to Yathrib), it was named Al Fatiha due to the fact, it is the first sura in the Quran after it was collected in one book, the word Fatiha means literally ????????????????????????????¢?????????????????????¢??????????????????????¬????????Opening????????????????????????????¢?????????????????????¢??????????????????????¬????????????????????????????, i.e. Al Fatiha means The Opening of the Quran, The Introduction of the Quran

This sura was the first sura to be revealed in full, it briefly outlines what is the message of the whole Quran, as if it is an introduction (opening) to what you are about to read in details.

The messages of the Quran are:
1- Informing us with the oneness of Allah
2- Informing us with Allah promise of giving glad tiding to the believers who believe and do good deeds
3- Informing us with Allah promise to punish those who reject and/or commit mischief on earth.
4- Explaining Ibada (the worshipping of Allah)
5- Informing us on how to achieve happiness in this life and the hereafter
6- Telling us some of the stories of those who obeyed Allah and died winners
7- Telling us some of the stories of those who disobeyed Allah and died losers

The above is what sura Al Fatiha is telling us in brief, that is why it is called Ummal Kitab,i.e. The mother of the book
