Al-Humazah (The Scorners)
Translation
Verses 1-9
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ (1)
Woe to every scorner and mocker.
[Al Quran ; 104:1]
الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ (2)
Who collects wealth and counts it.
[Al Quran ; 104:2]
يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ (3)
He thinks that his wealth has made him immortal.
[Al Quran ; 104:3]
كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ (4)
No! He will surely be left in Hutamah.
[Al Quran ; 104:4]
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ (5)
And what can make you realize what is Hotamah?
[Al Quran ; 104:5]
نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ (6)
(It is) the fuelled fire of Allah.
[Al Quran ; 104:6]
الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ (7)
Which exposes the hearts.
[Al Quran ; 104:7]
إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ (8)
Indeed, it will be upon them locked.
[Al Quran ; 104:8]
فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ (9)
In extended columns.
[Al Quran ; 104:9]
