Al-Aala (The Exalted)

Translation

Verses 1-19

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى (1)

Glorify the name of your Lord, the Exalted.
[Al Quran ; 87:1]

الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ (2)

Who created and proportioned (everything).
[Al Quran ; 87:2]

وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ (3)

And Who destined and guided (His creatures).
[Al Quran ; 87:3]

وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ (4)

And Who brings out the pasture.
[Al Quran ; 87:4]

فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ (5)

And makes it black stubble.
[Al Quran ; 87:5]

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ (6)

We will make you read so you will not forget.
[Al Quran ; 87:6]

إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ (7)

Except what Allah should will; indeed, He knows what is apparent and what is concealed.
[Al Quran ; 87:7]

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (8)

And We will ease you toward easiness.
[Al Quran ; 87:8]

فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ (9)

So remind, if reminding should benefit.
[Al Quran ; 87:9]

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ (10)

Surely, will be reminded, one who fears (Allah).
[Al Quran ; 87:10]

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى (11)

And the wretched will avoid it.
[Al Quran ; 87:11]

الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ (12)

Who will reach the enormous fire.
[Al Quran ; 87:12]

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ (13)

And he will neither die therein nor live.
[Al Quran ; 87:13]

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ (14)

One has certainly succeeded who purifies(the self).
[Al Quran ; 87:14]

وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ (15)

And remembers the name of his Lord and prays.
[Al Quran ; 87:15]

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا (16)

Rather, you prefer the life of this world.
[Al Quran ; 87:16]

وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ (17)

While the hereafter is better and more lasting.
[Al Quran ; 87:17]

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ (18)

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures.
[Al Quran ; 87:18]

صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ (19)

The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.
[Al Quran ; 87:19]
