Verses 1-20

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Indeed, We have given for you an obvious conquest.
[Al Quran ; 48:1]

That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favour upon you and guide you to a straight path.
[Al Quran ; 48:2]

And that He may help you with a mighty help.
[Al Quran ; 48:3]

It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their (present) faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allah Knowing, Wise.
[Al Quran ; 48:4]

That He may admit the believing men and the believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein, and that He may remove from them their evil deeds. And that is, with Allah, a great victory.
[Al Quran ; 48:5]

And that He may castigate the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the polytheist men and the polytheist women, those who assume about Allah evil thoughts. Upon them is the circle of evil, and the anger of Allah is upon them, and He has cursed them and prepared for them hell, and evil is the destination.
[Al Quran ; 48:6]

And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth; and ever is Allah Mighty, Wise.
[Al Quran ; 48:7]

Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
[Al Quran ; 48:8]

That you may believe in Allah and His messenger and honour Him and respect Him and glorify Him morning and afternoon.
[Al Quran ; 48:9]

Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, they only pledge allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is over their hands. So whoever breaks his word, he only breaks it upon himself; and whoever fulfils that upon which he took a covenant with Allah, He will give him a mighty reward.
[Al Quran ; 48:10]

Those who remained behind from among the bedouins will say to you: Our wealth and our families occupied us, so seek forgiveness for us. They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: Then who can possess for you against Allah anything if He wants for you harm or if He wants for you benefit? Rather, Allah is ever of what you do Acquainted.
[Al Quran ; 48:11]

Rather! You thought that the messenger and the believers would not return to their families, ever, and that was decorated in your hearts, and you assumed an evil assumption and were a people ruined.
[Al Quran ; 48:12]

And whoever does not believe in Allah and His messenger; then indeed, We have prepared for the unbelievers a blaze.
[Al Quran ; 48:13]

And to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He forgives whom He wills and castigates whom He wills. And ever is Allah Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 48:14]

Those who remained behind will say when you set for war booty to seize it: Let us follow you. They want to change the words of Allah. Say: You will never follow us; thus did Allah say before. And they will say: Rather, you envy us. Rather, they were not to understand except a little.
[Al Quran ; 48:15]

Say to those who remained behind from among the bedouins: You will be called (to fight) against a people possessing mighty strength; you may fight them, or they will surrender. And if you obey, Allah will give you a good reward, but if you turn back as you turned back before, He will castigate you with a painful torture.
[Al Quran ; 48:16]

There is not upon the blind any blame or upon the lame any blame or upon the sick any blame. And whoever obeys Allah and His messenger, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns back, He will castigate him with a painful torture.
[Al Quran ; 48:17]

Certainly Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them and rewarded them with a near conquest.
[Al Quran ; 48:18]

And a lot of war booty which they will seize; and ever is Allah Mighty, Wise.
[Al Quran ; 48:19]

Allah has promised you a lot of war booty which you will seize and has hastened for you this (conquest) and withheld the hands of the people from you, so that it may be a sign for the believers and that He may guide you to straight path.

Al-Fath (The Conquest)

Translation

Verses 21-29

And other (battles) upon that you have not been able (to know) which Allah has encompassed. And ever is Allah over everything, Capable.
[Al Quran ; 48:21]

And if those who have disbelieved had fought you, they would have turned their backs, then they would not find any guardian or any helper.
[Al Quran ; 48:22]

The course of Allah which passed on before, and you will never find in the course of Allah any change.
[Al Quran ; 48:23]

And it is He Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca after He made you victorious over them. And ever is Allah over what you do, Seeing.
[Al Quran ; 48:24]

They are those who have disbelieved and hindered you from the sacred mosque and prevented the offering from reaching its place. And if not for (some) believing men and believing women (among them) whom you did not know that you might trample, you would be struck because of them by dishonour without knowledge. So Allah might admit into His mercy whom He wills. If they had been apart, We would have castigated those who have disbelieved from among them with a painful torture.
[Al Quran ; 48:25]

When those who have disbelieved had in their hearts hatred, the hatred of ignorance, so Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His messenger and upon the believers and made them keep the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving to it and worthy of it. And ever is Allah of everything, Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 48:26]

Allah had certainly showed His messenger the vision in truth. You will surely enter the sacred mosque, if Allah willed, in security, with their heads shaved and (hair) shortened, not fearing anyone. And He knew what you did not know and made before that a near conquest.
[Al Quran ; 48:27]

It is He Who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it manifest over all religions. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.
[Al Quran ; 48:28]

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and those with him are tough against the unbelievers, merciful among themselves. You will see them bowing, prostrating and seeking grace from Allah and pleasure. Their marks are on their faces as a result of prostration. That is their likeness in the Taurat, and their likeness in the Injeel, as a plant that produced its sprout, then strengthened it so it became thick and stood on its stem, delighting the farmers, so that He may enrage thereby the unbelievers. Allah has promised those who have believed and done good deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
[Al Quran ; 48:29]
